The Glory of the Words in Red - A Meditation of His words from Creation to Incarnation

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Gen. 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created......(v.14) The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-3, 14
Once more Jesus spoke to them in parables.....  Matt. 22:1
The same mouth that spoke everything into existence now opens again as a man and speaks parables!  Just think of the glory of the moment of creation.  Let there be light!  And instantly there is light!  Who is this God?  The power to speak and substance that did not formerly exist suddenly forms!  We cannot rap our minds around the glory of this.  For we have always been around substance: the earth, people.... the created things.  We have no recollection of when there were no created things... But God does; Jesus does.  He remembers before He had the heavenly temple to dwell in; before He had angels to laud Him.  He remembers before the sea of glass, before a formless earthen void.  When we think about what it was like for God to dwell in perfect isolation we picture Him all alone in a big black space.  But space, of any kind is also created.  There was only God, there was nothing, no space, no time, nothing... just God dwelling in the perfect bliss of the fellowship of the trinity.

We use building materials to construct; ingredients to mix to get what we want.  But God had no prior material, ingredients or even molecules to work with.  Man can manipulate matter and create different things.  But with God He just had a dream in His heart.  All He had to do was to let that dream come out of His mouth and it would suddenly explode into substance.  We dream, we speak and we toil and toil to try to bring forth a faint impressions of what we dream of in our hearts.  However, God only had to open His mouth and speak, thats all...... just speak and His dream would be thrown into motion immediately.  Can you imagine the instant that He spoke and suddenly time, space, protons, neutrons, electrons suddenly come into being and bring forth light?  What was this light?  It wasn't the sun?  It wasn't the moon? What light was this?  Jesus, with just a few sentences you created and framed the entire universe.  Something billions and billions of light years in grander flung into motion by words that come from your mouth.  Oh the glory of these words!  Oh the majesty of who You are!

Jesus, for eternity past You dwelt in perfect pleasure & Joy within the fellowship of the Godhead.  ]Father loving You, You loving the Father, and the Spirit Loving You both, and both You and the Father loving the Spirit.  Perfect love, perfect harmony, not a moment of discontent, not a moment of dissatisfaction, just total perfection.  You didn't need the praise of the Seraphim or a Temple or any other created thing to give you pleasure.  You dwelt in perfect solitude, in perfect Joy.

Oh Jesus why interrupt such bliss?  Why risk the perfection you enjoyed in yourself?  Why did you do it?  Why?  I imagine that as you received love and gave love back and forth within the Godhead and enjoyed it so exuberantly that you (being a servant by nature) began to bubble over and want to share this perfect bliss.  But who could You share it with?  There was nothing?  I imagine for eternity a desire burning, a desire to create a being that you could bring into the fellowship that You had within the Godhead.  I can just imagine You praying that glorious prayer from John 17 billions and billions of years ago.... "Father I desire!"

This helps put the gospels in context.  Who is it we are looking in the gospels?  Oh Don't let His meekness and humility cause you to loose the awe of who He really is!! I look at Genesis 1 and "Let there be light" and now I overlay the magnitude of those words over the words in red....THEY ARE COMING FROM THE SAME MOUTH!  Ill say it again.  Now those same lips who spoke the earth into existence open up and speak a parable.

Oh please let me listen!  OH my soul shake off the dust and devour every jot and tittle.  Soul be struck down by the magnitude of the incarnate God who's mouth is opening to speak.  That thunderous voice could lay bear everything He once made..... what will He say?  Brace yourself.... For the God of glory is about to speak!!!  Be amazed, be terrified, Be filled with awe, marvel, and fall at His feet and cry out you are the Holy one who has come from God!
